'Alone you go faster, together you go further.' This well-known saying shows the core of our work. Together with the hard-working youth in the Netherlands and DR Congo we set up wonderful projects in which we work together to help each other.

4Watoto wants to offer more opportunities to the youth. Through education and collaboration, 4Watoto ensures that both worlds learn more about each other and grow closer together.

The vast majority of 4Watoto volunteers are young people aged 16 to 25. The founder of the foundation, Stan van der Weijde, was also young when he founded the foundation, namely 19 years old. In addition, most teachers employed by The 4WatotoHouse are also under 30.

We believe that DR Congo can be lifted to a higher level by the empowerment of its children and youth. The empowerment of youth creates the path for sustainable peace. When children and youth reach their full potential, they will be able to serve as examples for their fellow man and influence them in a positive way. This influence will reach much further than the 4Watoto foundation itself.
