How we work

4Watoto wants to give every child a chance to pursue unique dreams. By giving orphans in Eastern Congo the chance for self-development, love, future and dreams, 4Watoto believes that recovery is flourishing. 4Watoto wants to contribute to world peace and equality. We do this by connecting all people who want to help.

We put the child at the center of everything we do. 4Watoto acts in the best interests of the child and has the mission to guarantee children's rights as set out in the International Convention: Universal Rights of the Child.

The projects we work on are therefore full of love, passion, innovation, inclusivity and based on scientific evidence.

Children are the future. It protects children, it is simply good for everyone. If we want to be able to take better care of each other and therefore also nature, we will have to take better care of children.

In the Netherlands and DR Congo, we work together with people, companies, other charities and organizations, at a local level and worldwide through our social media. We act together because we have to care for the children who will lead the world.

We do this together, so this has a lot to do with establishing connections between different groups of people. In our view, these “different” groups of people are not that different at all. After all, we are all human, with the same palette of emotions and feelings, regardless of the external circumstances.

Whether we work on local projects or on major initiatives: we are where we - together with others - can have the most impact on the well-being of children.

4Watoto's mission is to guarantee children's rights in the east of DR Congo, with a focus on education, reunion and shelter. Supporting the local economy and helping to restore communities through education.
